The Technical Work Experience Program at Springfield High School trains and employs student workers to assist the Technology Department. Participants receive training in computer operation, network basics, troubleshooting/repair and customer service skills. These skills help prepare them for college and future careers in various fields. Many of the participants of the program have gone on to obtain successful careers in IT field. We have just completed interview for a new group of students and will be announcing them next week. Check back in this fall’s “Spotlight on Springfield” to meet the new hires and learn about their summer.
Auditorium
We have been busy this spring supporting events in the auditorium. We have had concerts, ceremonies and plays. I am sure many of you have been to an event in the auditorium and hopefully enjoyed the facility. Recently, we assisted Mrs. Hartong and her 7th and 8th grade students in the production of “Not So Grimm Tales”. We were proud to have students running both the sound and lighting equipment for their peers. It was very exciting to see them learn new things and support the production. We hope you were able to come and enjoy the performance!
