Computer Class Guidelines for a Happy Classroom!:
*Cell Phone Policy will be followed by The Student Code of Conduct. There is a bin in my room in which I will confiscate any cell phone and the phone will be taken to the office. The school bought us digital cameras to use. Any pictures that you take for the class with your cell phone need to be emailed to your school email during lunch or after school.*Headphones for listening to music may only be used during project work AFTER instruction has been given by Dr. Hartman. DO NOT come into the room earbuds hooked up to your ears! If you cover your ears, I cannot teach you because you will not be listening. During specified work time, appropriate music with headphones should be played and at a low level so as not to disturb others. If you cannot be respectful with headphone use, we will not be permitted to listen to music in the lab. Please take care of your property. I also have headphones for your use at the back of the room.
*Only bottles with lids permitted in the lab! No food in the lab and this is per administration as well. If you want to eat a snack, there is a certain spot in the room for it and you need to clean up your mess.*There is a video camera in this lab. Harm or theft to any equipment will be dealt with as a police matter.
*Anything that you look up online, type (including e-mail), or read is visible by myself and our technology department. Inappropriate use of computers will be dealt with by administration.
*Do not play games on the computer! Game usage slows down our network and is unnecessary during class time. Everyone in our school is trying to save their work the last few minutes of class. Please sign off when you are completed. If you continue to play games and not work, I will ask you to sign off of the computer. Failure to do so is insubordination.
*You need your notes and rubrics to successfully complete projects in the class and many times notes are permitted on quizzes and tests. Save your notes digitally!* If you choose to not complete an assignment in class when time is given the assignment cannot be made up. DEADLINES ARE DEADLINES! I will post in progress book that you chose not to complete the assignment. SHOW ME DAYS WILL ALLOW ME TO SEE HOW FAR ALONG YOU ARE WITH YOUR PROJECT! Also keep in mind that if you have no unexcused absences and 5 or less excused absences with an A or B for the course you DO NOT need to take the final exam.
*After two tardies to class you will have an after school detention. You get 3 (THREE) passes per quarter - 6 (SIX) a semester. That is a lot. Use them wisely! Initiate e-hall pass and I will accept. Do not waste class time trying to get out of work. *You should use the restroom during hall changes - you have enough time!
*Please stay in your seat until the bell rings. For fire code reasons, safety, and the fact that the air conditioner is on, you cannot gather by/outside the door. Cameras are on both inside the classroom and hallway.
*Profanity will not be accepted. An after school detention or referral to the office will be given.
Attendance/Assignments:
You are required to complete all assigned jobs in this class. Since there is no homework, attendance will be very important. Not only is attendance/participation a portion of your overall grade, you also will need to make up any missed assignments.
Grading:
YOU ARE REQUIRED TO KNOW YOUR PROGRESS BOOK ID AND PASSWORD!
Tests, projects and quizzes will be weighted the same.
Tests/projects/quizzes = 80%
In class assignments = 20%
Late Work:
LATE WORK IS NOT TAKEN UNLESS YOU HAVE AN EXCUSED ABSENCE OR ACTUALLY NEED MORE TIME. POINTS WILL BE TAKEN OFF FOR LATE WORK. PROCRASTINATION AND GOOFING OFF DOES NOT CONSTITUTE MORE TIME FOR PROJECTS/ASSIGNMENTS - NOT TO MENTION, EVERY OTHER FRIDAY IS MAKEUP and TECHNOLOGY DAY! Extra help will be assigned for those who need extra time.
Incomplete:
If you are given an incomplete for the quarter, you have one (1) week after the quarter to turn in all missing work. After one (1) week, the Incomplete will turn into an "F."
Notebooks:
You are REQUIRED to take notes digitally and store the notes/rubrics this semester. Notes are permitted a lot of times with quizzes and tests. If you do not have your notes stored when tested, you lose out!
Rubrics!!!:
ACCESS YOUR RUBRICS! YOU CANNOT COMPLETE AN ASSIGNMENT WITHOUT A RUBRIC!
