Biography

Welcome to Springfield High School and Junior High. My name is Danielle Starkey and I am back as the new, Junior High Associate Principal. I look forward to working with you as we partner in developing excited learners, increasing student achievement, and building a safe, healthy school community. I believe if all students work hard, attend school and are supported by their family, school, and community they will be successful. I encourage you to talk to your children regarding the ways they have demonstrated the character traits of responsibility, respect and trustworthiness as they interact with others throughout the day.

I look forward to working with the junior high students, staff, and parents. Life can be hard! I hope that your child and you want to be an active part of school events. Look for ways you can be involved and connected with your child and the school. Look for my newsletters on final forms. I will be sharing helpful hints and ideas for making your life easier as a parent of an early teen.

Most importantly, I promise that if you put forth your best effort to communicate and share honestly with me, I will do everything I can to help your child be successful. I want my focus to be on seeing students build positive relationships and compassionate hearts. If students acquire these qualities, so many other qualities fall into place.

Get to know me...

I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart for 32 years. This is my 32nd year in education. I graduated from Akron, East High School. I obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree at The University of Akron as well as my principals license. I moved Portage Lakes after my youngest child graduated from Lake High School in Hartville, where we raised our family. I have three children Joshua 27, Abigail 25, and Rebekah 24. I have a dog named Lily and a cat named Ketut. I love to read, craft, organize (yes, I said organize), have dinner with friends and be on the water any time I get a chance.

91-92~1 year-Portage Path Elementary ISS coordinator

92-96~ 4 years-Our Lady of the Elms 2nd-3rd, 5th-6th grade

96-99~ 3 years-Barberton UL Light Middle School 7th/8th Science/Health

99-09~ 10 years- Barberton Santrock Elementary 1st/2nd Loop

09-12~ 3 years- Barberton Middle School L. Arts 

12-15~ 3 years- Revere Middle School Assistant Principal

15-20~ 5 years- Springfield Jr./Sr. High

20-21~ 1 year-Schrop Intermediate Assistant Principal
