I teach fifth grade math & science. On my class page you will find all kinds of resources and tools to help us work together to educate your child this year.

Agendas/Assignment Books

Students need to be using their agendas every day. Agendas are to be utilized as a communication tool between teachers and parents, so make sure you have checked them on a daily basis and initialed it. This lets us know that you have seen it, and have acknowledged that all assignments are completed and have been placed in their bookbags for school the next day. The assignment books will help you keep track of assignments, study guides, and upcoming assessments. Any issues that arise during the school day, or behavior points that are lost at school will be recorded in student agendas.

Attendance

Please plan to be at school every day. When you miss school, you miss out (90 minutes of instruction per academic class). It is impossible to make up all of the instruction that is missed, which begins to leave holes and cause confusion for the child in his/her education. Of course, we all get sick from time to time and need to stay home. Parents, if your child is absent for more than 2 days, please call the school to let them know you will be in after 2 pm to pick up your childs missed work. This will help your child to stay on track, and not feel so overwhelmed and behind when they return to school. Stay healthy if you can.
