Physical Education - Rules and Regulations - Coach Lantzer

The goal of physical education is to provide the student with the skills and knowledge to enable them to become a lifelong healthy and physically active person.

The following guidelines have been written in order to help the student succeed in and enjoy their class. I look forward to helping each student reach their potential.

     Physical Education Attire:

The following items are recommended for each student in Physical Education.

    - T-shirt/Sweatshirt

    - Shorts/Sweatpants/Windpants

    - Supportive athletic shoes (no platform or open back shoes)

    - Shoes must be laced, tied or velcroed for maximum support

Physical education attire needs to adhere to the school dress code. Clothing that disrupts the dress code will not be allowed.

The following jewelry should not be worn in P.E. class:

    - hoop or dangling earrings

    - necklaces, bracelets or anklets

    - rings or watches

No food, gum, candy, cell phones, or glass containers of any kind are allowed in the gymnasium.

     Medical Excuses:

Students may be excused from physical education activities for medical reasons with a written note from a parent/guardian or doctor.

     Grading Procedure:

Each student is required to follow directions, show self-control, participate and give their best effort.

One point for proper PE clothing; Three points for participation, effort; One point for self-control (good attitude, good behavior, following rules)

Students who cannot show self-control, are medically excused, or do not have the proper clothing/footwear will be given an alternative assignment for their PE grade that week.

I will NOT compare the ability of individual students with classmates. If you participate to YOUR ability, wear the appropriate PE clothing, and display self-control, you will succeed in your physical education class.
